Physical description
Evening dress of purple silk brocade woven with a floral pattern in yellow and green, comprising of a separate bodice and skirt. (a) High collar and the top front of bodice made in plain yellow satin, ruched bottom front of bodice and short puffed sleeves in matching patterned brocade. False bolero waistcoat and sleeve cuffs in purple velvet. Fastening down centre front with metal hooks and embroidered eyelets. Bodice is boned (9 bones in cotton casings). (b) Matching purple velvet skirt with floating panels of the matching silk brocade. A series of pleats at the back are divided by two velvet panels. Skirt is lined in velvet and cotton twill and fastens at centre back with 3 brass hooks and eyes.
