Physical description
Going away dress of figured mauve/grey silk and mulberry coloured satin trims, puffed sleeves, built-in bustle. The bodice fastens centre front with fifteen brass buttons, mulberry satin trim down front collar and at cuffs. Cuffs trimmed with cream lace. Back of bodice features a pleated fan shaped basque with three brass buttons at waist. Concealed watch pocket left waist. Bodice backed in grey striped cotton, skirt fastens left side with hooks and eyes. Skirt features a short over-skirt shaped into a V at front. Under-skirt constructed of alternating mulberry and grey pleated silk panels. Skirt back in brown cotton.
