The embroidered panel by Anne Gilmore Rees, came into the collection in 1984.
The frame, with the Rowley label from the 1920’s, is finished with silver leaf and given a washed/glazed layer to shift the colour toward gold. The surface is stippled gesso.
The backing board retains the Rowley label.
The embroidery is offset from the lower edge of the frame in the manner of printed images and the frames used by Mortimer Menpes.
