Physical description
Riding habit comprising a jacket, skirt and breeches of navy blue knitted wool facecloth. (a) Single breasted jacket with a stand up collar, short revers, fitted front with long sleeves. Fastened down the centre front with 18 silk covered buttons and button-holes. Lined with black cotton with quilted sections across the breast. The back of the jacket is cut with curved panels on the sides and decorated at the centre lower back with two silk covered buttons. (b) Flared skirt with V-shaped yoke at back. Left side opening with placket and fastened with button. Right side of skirt is cut longer with horizontal dart at right proper knee for shaping while riding side saddle. (c) Calf length breeches with gathering at knees for movement and fastened centre front with a button.
