Physical description
"The Flight into Egypt", Burgundian, late Gothic, is the story of Jesus, Mary and Joseph's escape from Bethlehem into Egypt. The elements of the story are depicted in the tapestry with Jesus, Mary and Joseph resting whilst being watched by three angels. A peasant in the top corner is harvesting his wheat and being questioned by King Herod's soldiers on horseback.
