Collection of Canon John Edward Bromby D.D. (1809–89), St Paul’s Parsonage, Melbourne, before 1889[1]; by whom bequeathed to the NGV, 1889

[1] Bromby married firstly Eliza Sophia Lilly (d. 1883), the daughter of the Alderman Lilly of Bristol in 1836. They relocated to Australia, arriving February 1858, as Bromby had taken the position of Headmaster of Melbourne Grammar School (then the Melbourne Church of England Grammar School). He married secondly Elizabeth Maria Banks, daughter of C.D. Banks.
