inscribed in pencil on reverse u.c.-u.r.: from architreaves round windows / in the mosque of Yooloon founded AD 876-7 / & these (first 'e' overwritten with 'i') ornament is certainly of that date / it is the oldest Arabian building / in Cairo & is specially interesting / as one of the earliest known / examples of the Pounded arch
