About this work
For the spring–summer 1996 trompe-l’oeil collection, Martin Margiela invited photographer friends to make black and white photographs of vintage garments. These photos were then transposed onto light and fluid fabrics and constructed into simple silhouettes, as exemplified in Printed photographic sequin dress.
