Physical description
Upright vase of rectangular section waisted, with a slightly bulbous base, decorated in Japanese style in blue and gold with mon and floers on a buff ground ('Spray' pattern), the lower portion with mon on a blue ground, and with gilt metal mounts consisting of two handles in the form of elephant heads, and an openwork base with prunus, bamboo moulding and scrolls, resting on four tortoises.
