About this work

French architect and designer Philippe Starck’s biomorphic W. W. stool was originally conceived as part of an office environment for the German film director Wim Wenders. It functions not only as seating but also as a sculptural object and a support for standing. Its streamlined, cast-aluminium form embodies Starck’s distinctive design language, drawing inspiration from organic and natural shapes. W. W. stool is a prime example of Starck’s approach to high design, where utility and aesthetics co-exist.
