Physical description
The subject matter in Tim's work makes reference to the Dutch Baroque artist Jan Verkolje's mezzotint A Greyhound, 1680. The pose of the dog and background landscape is similar however Jones is paying homage to the Dutch artist with his own artistic interpretation rather than making a direct copy of his work.
