About this work

In a clever postmodern parody of jewellery conventions, this necklace marries late twentieth-century technological innovation with the glamour of a luxury fashion house. The reflective iridescence of the layered CDs mimics the effect of a sparkling gemstone choker. By utilising cheap, mass-produced consumer items associated with pop culture, the designers force us to question monetary value and its importance.
