CARTIER VCE Design: Product Design and Technologies | Visual Communication Design
Levels VCE

Mon–Fri, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm
NGV International

Be immersed in the world of Cartier design with an NGV educator! Together, we’ll explore celebrated jewellery and ingenious timepieces shaped by the social, technological, economic, historical and cultural forces of their time. Students get up close with iconic creations — from the famous panther brooch to the mind‑bending mystery clock and the sleek, timeless Tank watch. Along the way, design drawings straight from the Cartier archives reveal the imaginative thinking and technical brilliance behind these objects. It’s a rare chance to uncover the materials, processes, and bursts of innovation that transformed ideas on paper into some of the world’s most celebrated designs.

  • Discuss the different factors which influence and inform Cartier’s design choices including social, cultural, economic and historical considerations as well as client and end user needs
