Design, Culture and Innovation
All levels

Mon–Fri, 10 am, 11.30 am, 1 pm, 2.30 pm
NGV International & The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia

How does design reflect and respond to its time, place, and culture? Join an NGV educator to investigate how designers solve problems, propose solutions, address needs, present possibilities, tell stories, and imagine the future through their work. Students will discover how design is both a process and a way of thinking that shapes how we live, work and play.

Students will:

  • Interpret and analyse examples of design from different times, places and cultures
  • Discuss the different factors which influence and inform design choices including social, cultural and environmental considerations
  • Consider the design thinking process and the role of a designer in the 21st century

Discussion and activities in this program will be tailored to the level of the group.

Duration: 1 hour
Cost: $11
