This pre-visit guide provides information about the exhibition spaces to support an accessible visit. It is designed to help visitors with disabilities or neurodivergence prepare for their visit with photographs and detailed room descriptions.
Enter through the Waterwall entrance on St Kilda Road. The Let’s Party! exhibition is down the corridor on your right-hand side, at the north end (city side) of the building.
If you need help, friendly staff at the Information Desk are nearby and happy to assist.
You don’t need a ticket to visit Let’s Party! it’s free for everyone.
If you have a pram, there’s space to leave it in the corridor outside the exhibition. Please remember to take any valuables with you.
The exhibition is all on one level and wheelchair accessible.
Throughout the exhibition, you’ll see fashion items on display behind glass.
There are four different activities in the Let’s Party! exhibition. You can do them in any order you like.
As you enter the exhibition, the party hats activity is on the right-hand side.
This area has a pink carpet and walls in pink, grey, and cream. The walls have a wavy shape.
In the middle of the space is a long table with stools. There are mirrors in different shapes on top of the table.
The table has two height levels, and stools can be moved to make space for wheelchair users.
This activity invites you to decorate your own party hat using metallic stickers.
There are two photobooths in the exhibition.
If you like, you can dress up in sparkly costumes and take a photo.
The photobooth will take your picture and give you the option to scan a QR code to receive it on your own device.
The photobooths are bright red and shiny, with reflective surfaces and lightning bolt shapes.
At busy times, you may need to wait for your turn. Please take one photo per person so everyone gets a chance.
In the centre of the exhibition is a space for dancing.
The space lights up and loud energetic music plays.
The is a high sensory space with disco balls and coloured lights.
There is a station at the entry to the space where you can tap a button to play music.
On the left-hand side as you enter the exhibition is a drawing activity where you can draw a cake for a special celebration.
