Your accessible pre-visit guide to the Friday Nights event series and the CARTIER, the 2026 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® exhibition, with information on navigation and layout, ticketing and sensory environments. Events are presented each Friday between 12 June and 4 October, 6pm to 10pm.

A limited amount of tickets are available for sale on the door, on the night of the event.
Once you have entered the event you are able to stay for as long as you wish, or until the event finishes at 10pm.
Children of all ages are warmly welcomed at NGV Friday Nights events.
NGV Friday Nights takes place at NGV International, 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
Events are presented each Friday between 12 June and 2 October 2026, 6pm to 10pm.
People with access needs are welcome to use the priority line at the entrance. The entrance to NGV International is on street level and has an automatic door. There is a lift from the Arts Centre Melbourne carpark to the NGV International entrance.

The CARTIER exhibition and all public areas in the NGV, including the Gallery Kitchen and NGV design store, are wheelchair accessible.
Wheelchairs are available for free hire from the information desk. We recommend booking a wheelchair prior to your visit.

Baby change facilities are available, with a dedicated parents’ room which provides a quiet space for families, a private feeding space and a microwave.
A Changing Places bathroom is located nearby at Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, approximately 300 metres from NGV International.
Accredited assistance dogs are welcome at the NGV.
Please ensure your assistance dog is wearing their jacket while at the Gallery.
Access aids including self-regulation fidget devices, magnifying sheets and earplugs are available for free hire from the information desk. We recommend booking prior to your visit.

The exhibition features jewellery objects, plus archival materials, video and photography content. One artwork depicts smoking.
The CARTIER exhibition presents an immersive experience using mirrors and reflective surfaces, lighting effects, large moving-image screens and a soundtrack that plays at a heightened volume in some places. Some gallery spaces have low lighting.
The sensory map shows the locations of audiovisual content, sensory elements and seating, and can help you prepare for your visit.
Gallery spaces are air-conditioned and are between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius.

The Gandel Hall is a very large room with carpet, bluestone walls and a colourful stained-glass ceiling.
NGV Friday Nights: CARTIER presents a series of live performances in the Gandel Hall. See NGV Friday Nights for the full program.
As the sun sets there are low light levels in the Gandel Hall, with the stage and bars lit up. Coloured and moving light effects are shown on the ceiling and haze effects are used. The music levels are fairly loud. No strobing is used.
The Gandel Hall is busy and noisy. If you need a lower-sensory area, we recommend the area next to Gallery Kitchen in front of the lift.
The NGV Garden will be closed for NGV Friday Nights: CARTIER.
Bench seats can be found throughout the exhibition. Lightweight fold-out stools are available for free hire from the Information Desk and can be taken into the exhibition spaces.
Seating in the public areas includes ottomans, high bars with high stools, low café-style tables with chairs with backs and beanbags.
A range of small and substantial dishes are available for purchase from outlets in the Gandel Hall and Gallery Kitchen.
Two free water stations are available: in the Gandel Hall near the Häagen-Dazs kiosk and next to the Gallery Kitchen near the lift.
A Deaf-led tour in Auslan will be presented during NGV Friday Nights: CARTIER on Friday 31 July, 6–7pm. Booking is required.
