Teens, Art Party is back – the Gallery is yours to enjoy on this dazzling night. Get ready for an electrifying line up of music, art, dance, live performances and workshops, and experience the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® exhibition CARTIER after dark. Get hands-on with creative activities, sing your heart out in karaoke and win prizes throughout the night. You do not want to miss this – book your tickets now!

Parent and Guardian Information

Art Party is a teen-exclusive event especially for secondary school students aged 12 to 18 years with a valid ID. Please bring your secondary school ID, Transport Victoria School Student ID or Victorian Student Pass on the night.

If you don’t have these forms of ID or would like to speak to a staff member, please contact us.

The Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® exhibition, CARTIER, presents an immersive experience using mirrors and reflective surfaces, lighting effects, large moving-image screens and a soundtrack that plays at a heightened volume in places. Some gallery spaces have low lighting.

Explore Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson’s exhibition Mercy, relax on a beanbag or engage in some quiet drawing inside the low sensory space. This area will have fewer people, lower lighting and sensory aids.

Explore Children’s Play – a deliciously imaginative new exhibition by Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson. Inspired by the idea of the theatrical feast, visitors are invited to take centre stage, perform stories, sketch fantastical desserts and whip up their own wonderfully wonky cake sculptures.

 Dress Code

Art Party is your night to wear what makes you feel good. Dress up or dress down. Come as a character, showcase your own designs or wear a favourite outfit.

NGV design store discount

For one night only, the NGV design store will be offering teens a 10% discount (exclusions apply).

Food & Drink

A selection of food and drinks, including low-gluten, vegan and vegetarian options, is available for purchase in Gallery Kitchen. A free water station is also located in the Gallery Kitchen. This is strictly an alcohol and drug-free event.

NGV Teens: Art Party is located at NGV International, 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne. Your ticket gives you access between 6–9pm.
