To coincide with Coming Out Day, NGV and the Australian Queer Archives (AQuA) come together to explore how queer people have connected and built supportive communities in the face of prejudice prior to, and following, the Gay Liberation Movement.
Drawing on stories present within the NGV Collection and AQuA’s holdings, presentations by leading queer creatives will explore the significance of connection and safe spaces in building and sustaining LGBTIQA+ communities.
Join us as we reflect on the historical and ongoing complexities of ‘coming out’, while celebrating the resilience and strength these histories and experiences represent.
