Gain a behind-the-scenes insight into the preparation, presentation and conservation of works for NGV’s bold and boundary-pushing exhibition Westwood | Kawakubo. A panel of experts, Danielle Whitfield, Curator of Fashion & Textiles, NGV; Peter King, Exhibition Designer and an NGV Conservator will discuss the processes involved in bringing this landmark exhibition to life. This program addresses key knowledge and skills required for VCE Art Making and Exhibiting.

The panel talk runs from 1.00–2.30 pm and includes time for Q&A. Please plan additional time for exhibition viewing either before or after the talk. The NGV Education Booking team will contact you with your allocated exhibition viewing time.

The cost of this program includes exhibition entry to Westwood | Kawakubo. Teachers receive one complimentary ticket per 15 students. An additional cost of $37 per tickets applies to any additional teachers.

  • Examine the curatorial considerations and thematic connections between works in Westwood|Kawakubo.
  • Identify and analyse the presentation of garments, accessories and other works in the exhibition space.
  • Investigate, recognise and evaluate the processes and considerations involved in the display, conservation and care of fashion objects.
