Join us to learn more about the work of renowned English Romantic painter J.M.W. Turner, in this exclusive talk just for NGV Members.

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of J.M.W. Turner’s birth, and the forthcoming exhibition on the artist at Tate Britain opening in November 2025, NGV Senior Curator of International Art, Dr Ted Gott looks back at his remarkable 1845 painting, Falls of Schaffhausen (Val d’Aosta).

About the Speaker

Dr Ted Gott is Senior Curator of International Art at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). He has curated and co-curated more than 25 exhibitions, including Salvador Dalí: Liquid Desire, Napoleon: Revolution to Empire, and most recently co-curated QUEER: Stories from the NGV Collection and Pierre Bonnard: Designed by India Mahdavi.
