Celebrating the launch of Open Collab: Global/Local, a publication documenting the learnings from the workshop and installation held as part of Melbourne Design Week 2020.

This panel discussion exposes the process of making a publication from concept to final product — and how you can do the same… It will address critical and speculative ideas of collaboration, randomisation, design systems and the importance of play through design.

The limited-edition book will be available at the launch.

Speakers

Sean Hogan established art and design studio Trampoline in 1995. Sean has combined a commercial and a research-led practice that blurs the processes and visual language of art and design.

Wayne Smith is a Designer and Design Educator working for various studios and cultural institutions across Melbourne. In his design practice he predominantly focuses on branding for music, the arts and social enterprises, as well as self-initiated experimental projects.

Chris Norman 313RGB is a Multidisciplinary Creative and Design Educator. 313RGB’s practice pushes the boundary between designer, artist and programmer. Seamlessly crossing media from museum installations to large scale events and workshops & exhibitions.
