Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines juxtaposes the work of New York-based artists Keith Haring (1958–90) and Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960–88), providing new insights into each artist’s unique visual language and political and artistic ideas.
Covering the artists’ shared focus on street art, performance and dance, symbols and words, and racism and politics, the exhibition comprises more than 200 works including final works by both artists.
Members are invited to an exclusive introduction to the exhibition by NGV curator Pip Wallis before the exhibition opens on 1 December, including an opportunity to view the exhibition model and learn about how the exhibition design presents the works of both artists in dialogue.
Includes a complimentary glass of wine on arrival and light refreshments.
Doors open at 5.45pm for a 6pm start.
This program does not include an exhibition viewing. Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines opens on Sunday 1 December, with a Members exclusive viewing from 5.30–8.30pm. Tickets for the Members viewing can be purchased here.
