In this exclusive talk developed especially for NGV Members, hear the remarkable story of a discovery that brought to light a painting by Australian Impressionist artist Frederick McCubbin that was for more than a century thought to be lost.

NGV Associate Director of Conservation, Michael Varcoe-Cocks, shares behind-the-scenes insights into the discovery and reveals how NGV’s team of specialist conservators, through their treatment of artworks in the NGV Collection, are able to find hidden secrets within paintings.
