Explore

Learn about the transformative period in Australian history following Victoria’s separation from New South Wales in 1851 and the gold rush era that followed, which led to rapid population growth and urban development.

This Members-only talk takes an in-depth look at this rich period in Australian art history, highlighting influential artists like Eugene von Guérard and Louis Buvelot, introducing lesser-known women artists such as Emmaline Pritchard, and examining the impact of colonisation on First Nations communities.
