Explore

The old master collections of the NGV have recently been enriched by a remarkable bequest of more than two dozen paintings from the Estate of Robert Victor Jones.

The Robert Victor Jones gift encompasses sixteenth and seventeenth-century Flemish and Dutch paintings, seventeenth and eighteenth-century French paintings, and selected masterworks from the English, Italian and Swiss schools. Landscape, portraiture, mythology, religion and allegory are all topics touched upon by the works in this remarkable gift.

In a special presentation exclusively for NGV Members, NGV Senior Curator Dr Ted Gott will examine thirteen amazing seventeenth century Dutch and Flemish paintings from this extraordinary gift.

About the speaker

Dr Ted Gott is Senior Curator of International Art at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).
