Bring characters and stories to life with award-winning author Katrina Nannestad in an immersive gallery writing experience for curious, high-ability learners.
Spend the morning with NGV Educators in an energetic creative writing workshop inspired by the NGV Collection, exploring how artworks can spark ideas for characters and stories. Engaging with diverse works, students will experiment with language, literary devices and rich descriptive vocabulary to craft short pieces, including poetry and descriptive writing.
In the afternoon, students continue with award-winning author Katrina Nannestad. Working from selected artworks, they will uncover character clues and imagine the narratives hidden within. Through playful writing exercises and idea-generation warm-ups, students will develop vivid, original characters inspired by their gallery discoveries and begin shaping the worlds those characters inhabit.
