Using the NGV to Teach is a series of free online programs introducing ideas and strategies for incorporating art and design into teaching and learning in specific curriculum areas. Presented by NGV educators.

Contemporary art can be a powerful resource for classroom teaching across the curriculum: it’s often innovative, thought provoking and focused on current issues and concerns. But how do you talk about contemporary art with students? In October, explore ways to inspire students to think creatively and engage in critical conversation about contemporary art. This session is suitable for teachers and pre-service teachers of all levels and curriculum areas.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and discuss key concepts relevant to contemporary art in the NGV Collection
  • Analyse works of art and design in the NGV Collection
  • Discover resources and programs at the NGV to support teaching and learning about Contemporary Art
