Take some time out with art! Ways of Looking teacher professional learning programs are offered each term. Engage in rich conversations about art with colleagues and discuss different strategies and approaches to use in the classroom to encourage diverse viewpoints and foster students’ observation, interpretation and responding skills.
Art can offer powerful learning opportunities for students – but how do you engage them in meaningful conversations about gender gaps and perspectives and how do they inform our understanding of the meanings and messages in artworks.
In this program, Art theorist and educator Professor Jacqueline Millner will guide participants through a discussion and analysis of works from the NGV Collection with a focus on using gender as a lens for exploring and understanding how artworks are made, viewed and exhibited. Joined by an NGV Educator, Jacqueline will facilitate activities designed to explore strategies for enhancing student engagement, inspire critical thinking and promote inclusive conversations.
All materials are supplied. This event also includes light refreshments. Please include any dietary requirements when booking.
