Yorta Yorta/Taungurung woman Donna Blackall leads a drop-in weaving workshop sharing her Satin Stitch basket weave technique. Learn to basket weave surrounded by works on display in From Bark to Neon: Indigenous Art from the NGV Collection.

Drop into a session at 1pm, 1.30pm, 2pm or 2.30pm. Spaces are limited.

Donna Blackall is a Yorta Yorta/Taungurung woman who has been weaving for over 10 years and was taught by Gunditjmara woman and master weaver Bronwyn Razem.

Using a Satin Stitch basket weave technique, Donna makes both traditional pieces including eel traps and baskets as well as exploring some of her own designs, weaving totems including platypus and other animals.

Presented as part of Reconciliation Week in partnership with the Koorie Heritage Trust.
