Unclear Cloud

How might new technologies provide answers to current real-world problems? How might innovative design shape how we make things in the future? Sampling the Future suggests answers to these questions and shows how designers open doors to new possibilities through their experimentation. Beginning with a focus on Unclear Cloud, 2021, by Melbourne architect Roland Snooks, we’ll see how technology might change the world for humans and other species, too!

Learning objectives

  • Discuss the ideas that inspired the design and production of Unclear Cloud
  • Identify and describe new materials and emerging technologies have been utilised in this example of contemporary design
  • Define the term “speculative design” and discuss the role of creative visualisation and experimentation in developing innovative ideas

Duration: 15 mins

Cost: Free
