Physical description
Opaque white alabastron with a broad horizontal rim above a constricted neck, a tall, cylindrical body which expands slightly down to a maximum diameter above a convex base. 1.0 cm below the shoulder are two ring handles with pronounced, well-made tails. The vessel is decorated around the rim edge with a wine-coloured trail and a continuous trail on the neck and body beginning under the rim and running in 13 spiral curls to the maximum diameter. The top six curls are horizontal, the next two are combed downwards and the lowest five are combed two ways to form zigzags. Below this is a separate thin trail in two horizontal lines with overlapping ends. The vessel is modelled on a core, the mouth formed on a core rod and showing the rough edge usually associated with this feature. The rim is added to this in the form of a broad, horizontal disk, after the vessel was released from the core rod. The handles were drawn on either before or after the release from the core. The rim trail is not marvered but those on the body are.
