The jacket is made in a wool, viscose woven fabric, featuring a fine check pattern in pale grey, black and white. Constructed in an inventive manner the jacket has exaggerated short sleeves, floating lapels and bodice drapery. The sleeves are slightly puffed, with the layer of fabric doubled over and disappearing inside the sleeve opening to form an underfined edge. Shoulder pads accentuate the head of the sleeve. The front of the jacket has a V-neckline, with the collar lapels only semi-attached. There is a standard four button fastening at the centre front. The jacket has an additional side panel that wraps around the front and is positioned by a separate button at the side and is attached to one of the front buttons. This panel creates the effect of a mock apron, and can also be draped around the back. The jacket is lined with cream silk satin.
