The Face veil has a curved silver plate face band, cut-away at the centre front to sit under the nose. The band extends around the top of the head with two black leather straps, which are buckled together to position and adjust the size. The band is trimmed with five rows of silver chain attached to the band on the right and left cheeks. The chains are graduated slightly in length, falling in soft curves to simulate a veil. Hinged on each side are two tapering metal pieces, which fasten together at the centre back with a black leather thong that threads through a metal casing. This device secures the placement of the Face veil.
