Physical description
The mini dress is made in crochet, using double and treble stitches to create a relatively open lattice ground. From the hipline to the hem runs a set of four ruffles increasing the fullness of the skirt. The main body of the dress is bright blue, contrasted with bands of green and bright blue running along the cuff and hem ruffles. There are a series of crochet bobbles and loops running down the centre front of the dress, which act both as an ornate trim and a fastening device. The dress has its original slip in a deep blue rayon, providing a dark background to the crochet overlay.
