Dutch designer Iris van Herpen is a pioneer in 3D printed garments, using injection-moulded fabrics, silicone-coated crystals and 3D printed elements to create cutting edge fashion designs to create cutting edge fashion designs.

On display in NGV Triennial, Dress 2011 by Iris Van Herpen is formed from circular semi-transparent acrylic sheets that have been hand and laser cut and mounted to create a three-dimensional shell-like shape.
