This beautiful bottle vase was made by Fulvio Bianconi, who became director of the Venini firm in 1948. At the time, Venini was at the forefront of avant-garde art glass on Murano. The pezzato technique is simple but highly effective. The glassmaker produces strips of coloured glass that are cut into pieces when cool. The pieces of glass are assembled into a flat pattern and fused before the plate is rolled onto a clear glass gather and formed.
Questo bellissimo vaso a bottiglia è stato realizzato da Fulvio Bianconi, il quale divenne direttore della ditta Venini nel 1948. All’epoca, Venini era la compagnia più all’avanguardia nella produzione di vetro artistico a Murano. La tecnica del pezzato è semplice ma molto efficace. Il vetraio produce strisce di vetro colorato che vengono tagliate in pezzi una volta raffreddate. I pezzi di vetro vengono assemblati in un modello piatto e fusi prima che la lastra venga arrotolata su un supporto di vetro trasparente e formata.
