Twentieth – Twenty-First Century Australian Art (Gallery 15), Level 3

31 Mar 11 – 19 Jun 11

A major event in the annual school calendar, Top Arts: VCE 2010 again presents outstanding work completed by young student artists as part of their assessment for  VCE Art and Studio Arts.

VCE Art requires students to produce a body of work including at least two finished artworks that demonstrate the student’s exploration and progressive refinement of their personal ideas and concepts. Students make critical annotations to support their ongoing evaluation and reflection upon their artmaking using the study construct of the Analytical Frameworks.

VCE Studio Arts requires students to present an exploration proposal that identifies their ideas and focus for artmaking, supporting an individual design process and culminating in the production of a cohesive folio of finished artworks.

This exhibition highlights the National Gallery of Victoria’s strong commitment and support of contemporary art, arts education and showcases the ideas and attitudes of young people.
