About this work
‘My guitar is a tribute to Ruby Hunter but also to my dad, as he played guitar around the fire most nights. Amy “grew up” my dad. All the old girls came and jammed at Amy’s house on Bentinck Island, including my siblings Teneai and Jeremy, and my cousins Dalex, BJ and Cadessa, plus Ethel’s grandchildren Chantelle and Christina. We sang mostly country songs but also hymns that were translated and sung.’
