About this work

This daesamjaknorigae (ornamental pendant) comprises three silver pots or vases known as norigae, which are believed to possess the power to avert disaster and protect the wearer for the coming year. The three pieces are joined at the top by a clip in the shape of a butterfly, a common motif found in Korean women’s ornamentation that represents longevity and marital happiness.
