Physical description
Crimson silk velvet hooded cape with red machine quilted padded lining of crimson silk or cotton. Red grosgrain ribbon ruched at neckline extending into looped ties which fall nearly to cape hemline. The ribbon is handstitched at neckline, while the attached hood is lined with pale pink machine quilted silk. Front closure with metal hooks and crimson thread covered metal eyes. Inner arm supports are present, with silk velvet uppers and crimson quilted lining. They extend along the inside of both front edges, attaching below the neckline and extending into a thick padded hem attached to the lower cape edge. The cape is eased into this padded hem, creating a slight fullness. The cape is slashed to create sleeve caps at the shoulders.
