About this work
Eight artists affiliated with Store 5 in Prahran contributed to The Caboose portfolio. Tucked behind a cake shop on Chapel Street, in the inner-city suburb of Prahran, Store 5 was an artist-run gallery managed by Gary Wilson and Kerrie Poliness. Between 1989 and 1993, the gallery held 150 exhibitions, many on view for just one day. Store 5 was dedicated primarily to abstract art and The Caboose portfolio was designed to encourage painters to experiment with abstraction in the medium of printmaking.
