About this work
These abstract prints are made by three artists affiliated with Store 5 in Prahran. A small room tucked away behind a Chapel Street cake shop, Store 5 was an artist-run gallery managed by Gary Wison and Kerrie Poliness. Over the four-and-a-half years of its operation, between 1989 and 1993, 150 exhibitions were held at Store 5, many of which were on view for just one day. The gallery was dedicated primarily to abstract art, and The Caboose portfolio was designed to encourage painters to explore abstraction in the medium of print.
