Nurture a love of writing. Experiment with language, develop rich descriptive vocabulary, and use art and design from different times and cultures as inspiration for creative writing. Students create a collection of responses that can be used in the classroom to produce extended pieces of writing.

Duration: 1 hour

Cost: $10 per student

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the relationship between visual art and written creative texts.
  • Analyse works of art and design from different cultural, historical and contemporary contexts using deep looking and close reading techniques.
  • Develop and share ideas for descriptive phrases and short pieces of creative writing which use rich vocabulary and literary devices.

    We require four weeks notice for all bookings.

    Changes to your booking must be made in writing. Changes can be made up to 14 days prior to your visit. Invoices will be sent prior to the visit. Full program fees will be incurred for late cancellations or amendments.

    Please provide details of any relevant themes and skills your students are learning about at school. While we cannot offer individually tailored programs, our museum educators will consider this information when selecting and discussing works of art during the program.
