Where do artists and designers get their ideas? How does an idea become a finished work? How do materials and techniques connect to ideas, culture, and meanings? Explore the diverse ideas and materials that have inspired creative minds across time and place.

  • Discuss how works of art and design reflect the interests, ideas, experiences and intentions of the artist /designer.
  • Examine the practices of artists and designers who have been inspired by ideas relating to personal and cultural identity.
  • Analyse and interpret the ways in which artists and designers use materials and techniques to express meaning and ideas.
