Martin Grant | Designing Elegance for Secondary

Discover the artistry and innovation behind Martin Grant’s exquisite designs. Through the lens of Grant’s masterful tailoring and sculptural silhouettes, students will investigate the design process, from concept development to material selection and construction techniques. Engaging in critical discussions, students will analyse how shape, form and craftsmanship intersect in fashion design. This program offers a unique opportunity to connect design thinking with contemporary industry practices. 

Students will: 

  • Explore how Martin Grant’s use of shape and form contribute to his innovative designs. 
  • Consider how design processes are used to refine and develop creative concepts. 
  • Examine materials, tools, and construction techniques used in contemporary fashion design and their impact on the final product.  

Duration: 1 hour 

Cost: $21 per student

Please provide details of any relevant themes and skills your students are learning about at school. While we cannot offer individually tailored programs, our museum educators will consider this information when selecting and discussing works of art during the program.

Date Selection

We recommend you provide three date options for your program to avoid disappointment. We will do our best to accommodate your first preference, however due to high demand this may not always be possible.
