Paint Today! | Digital Still Life Studio Workshop

If the Impressionists were alive today, how might they create a still life painting? Join us for a creative workshop in the NGV studio, to create your own Impressionist inspired still-life with digital tools. With an iPad and stylus in hand, students will explore colour, texture, and brushstrokes to make a vibrant digital painting inspired by Impressionist techniques.

Students will:

  • Identify key elements in the work of French Impressionism including the use of light, colour, and brushstrokes
  • Discuss themes and ideas in select works of exhibited artists
  • Use digital painting tools and techniques to create an Impressionist inspired painting

Duration: 2 hours, plus time for self-guided viewing

Cost: $38 per student

• At least one teacher/adult for every 20 students for students in Year 2 or above.
• At least one teacher/adult for every 15 students for K to Year 1 students.

Please provide details of any relevant themes and skills your students are learning about at school. While we cannot offer individually tailored programs, our museum educators will consider this information when selecting and discussing works of art during the program.

We recommend you provide three date options for your program to avoid disappointment. We will do our best to accommodate your first preference, however due to high demand this may not always be possible.
