NGV WILL REOPEN ON SATURDAY 27 JUNE

From our team here at NGV, we would like to express our very best wishes to our community at this time. We are currently closed to the public and will reopen on Saturday, 27 June, 2020.

In line with Victorian Chief Health Officer’s guidance, the NGV will implement a variety of public health and physical distancing measures including free timed ticketing, appropriate queue management and increased deep cleaning of facilities, as well as increased hand sanitiser stations.

We encourage you to continue to visit our website and follow #NGVEveryDay on social media for updates on our reopening and daily inspiration.

Melbourne Now countdown – day 18

The public programs team having been gearing up for Melbourne Now by organising numerous programs.  What better way to open the first three days then with 23 floor talks presented by various contemporary artists, designers and architects represented in the exhibition.

Held every half hour in Gallery spaces at NGV Australia and NGV International, visitors will have the unique experience to hear talented designers and architects such as Rory Hyde, Mark Raggatt- ARM, Peter Ho-PHOOEY, Simone LeAmon, Stewart Russell –Spacecraft, Meredith Turnbull and Alexi Freeman. Talks will also feature  a plethora of artists including Destiny Deacon, Lyndell Brown and Charles Green, Darren Sylvester, Marco Fusinato, Tim Fleming, Anastasia Klose, Brian Martin, Emily Floyd, Jess Johnson, Julia deVille, Brook Andrew and Patrick Pound to name just a few.

They will be discussing art, architecture, design, fashion, sound, performance and urbanism – and what makes Melbourne a truly unique and creative city.
