Melbourne Now countdown – day 26

With a large number of participatory works, young audiences will have many opportunities to explore contemporary art and design in a very active way.

Melbourne Now programs for early years students have been designed to inspire curiosity and imaginative thinking, and have a strong focus on inquiry and doing.   We will be inviting young students to explore, play, touch, interact, participate, discover, experiment and enjoy as they encounter multiple art forms including dance, fashion, design and music. Expect surprise and wonderment!

Melbourne Now is an extensive exhibition that spans both NGV International and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia but our educators are here to help you plan your visit with young learners.

We have developed some very exciting and fun programs specifically for kinder and early primary audiences. Several programs, inspired by Darren Sylvester’s work, For you 2013, an illuminated dance floor, include a kids disco in the Great Hall! It might not be quite ‘Saturday Night Fever’ but it will certainly be a chance for the littlies to strut their stuff and get down and boogie in a most memorable occasion.
