From our team here at NGV, we would like to express our very best wishes to our community at this time. We are currently closed to the public and will reopen on Saturday, 27 June, 2020.

In line with Victorian Chief Health Officer’s guidance, the NGV will implement a variety of public health and physical distancing measures including free timed ticketing, appropriate queue management and increased deep cleaning of facilities, as well as increased hand sanitiser stations.

We encourage you to continue to visit our website and follow #NGVEveryDay on social media for updates on our reopening and daily inspiration.

We are very grateful for the loyalty of the NGV community and look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Melbourne Now countdown – day 29

Melbourne Now is Melbourne ‘ooh it’s very soon’ for everyone in the multi-media department.

The little people that live inside your television and computer screens  have been busily editing and writing and programming and finding new ways of making things work so that when you turn up to watch, interact and play, the technology will do the same. It’s a different kind of art.

Videos and audio files are being uploaded, large screens installed, apps and microsites coded and power points switched on. Artists have been interviewed, installations time-lapsed and every day something new is being created so that when Melbourne Soon becomes Melbourne Now – your ears and eyes will be in for a treat.
