NGV Assistant Curator Myf Doughty introduces Danish artist Cecile Bendixen’s installation Cloud formations, a skyscape of four large illuminated voluminous textile clouds.

Aiming to draw the audience’s attention to the beauty and joy found in the passing moments of a cloud, this project encouraging us to look more closely at the world around us. Cloud formations was painstakingly fabricated by hand over many months by a team of makers. Each cloud is hand-formed with needle and thread to shape, fold and stitch that large sheets of fabric into the seemingly weightless forms.
